As a coach I work on the assumption that everybody is a genius, a Picasso of some sort, which makes coaching a lot of fun!
When people tap into their essence, life flows and miracles happen. The joy of being a coach is being able to help unearth that genius in another person. It is there, without exception. For some people it is an easy discovery and for others it takes some digging and searching. And when it surfaces, it is a wonderful thing! People’s faces change, their lives suddenly have a deeper and more satisfying meaning and everything falls into perspective. It is like finding a road in the dark. When before there was fear, confusion and hesitation, now there is relief, purpose and direction.
Finding your divine essence is not hard. We are all brimming with it. Staying on course can be a bit more challenging and takes practice. That’s where a coach comes in handy, keeping you on track to living your dream.

Remember Daniel Pink? His book Free Agent Nation: The Future of Working For Yourself made a deep impression on me and has forever changed the way I look at ‘work’! He now came out with a new book, The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You’ll Ever Need, and it comes with a fun promotional trailer, check it out!
Tim Ferriss of The 4-Hour Work Week (amazing book!) has done an interview with Dan Pink on great speech writing (Dan was the chief speech writer for Al Gore from 1995-1997). Here is Tim’s post:
I’ve said many times that the three essential ingredients in any good speech are brevity, levity, and repetition. (That bears repeating: brevity, levity, and repetition.)
But at a broader level, the most important aspect of any speech, as Garr Reynolds reminds us in Presentation Zen, is being able to answer two questions:
A. What’s your point?
B. Why does it matter?
That’s the whole enchilada. If you have a single point and can explain to a particular audience why it matters to them, you’re ahead of 90 percent of the business and political speechgivers out there today.

I listened to Martin Sage’s Coach TV Show on relationships the other day and was left wondering …
On the show he makes the comparison between our world today (with regards to relationships) and the world millions of years ago, when we lived as primates and the rules were very simple and well defined. With evolution the rules of mating changed and people’s habits changed accordingly. Moving up in time more and more changes occurred and they happened slowly enough for people to adapt.
In todays world changes are happening so fast that it is hard to keep up. A lot of us are confused and overwhelmed when it comes to relationships. We are trying to live in a new world with our old habits and our old patterns of thinking and they just don’t fit anymore!
After listening to Martin’s talk I could not help but thinking that this also applies to the rest of our lives. Aren’t we approaching a new reality with our old ideas of how the world ought to be? Isn’t it time to let go of old habits like jealousy, competition, skepticism, judgment, working hard, thinking in terms of scarcity, preventing others from having what they want, etc.?
Changes are happening faster and faster. Anything you want is at your fingertips. More and more people are living proof that you can have everything you want. You don’t have to be smarter, better, richer, faster or more special. You have everything it takes. Maybe it is time to embrace the new possibilities and live with joy, pleasure and freedom? How would a world like that be?
